Thyme 百里香
Thyme is a perennial herb that is available in a wide variety of colors and scents. No matter what variety, it’s still a classic Witch’s garden herb. Well known as a fabulous herb to use in all sorts of cooking, thyme is equally marvelous and versatile when it comes to incorporation it into witchery.
百里香屬多年草本植物，有不同的顏色與香味；但不論是哪類品種，只要是典型的女巫花園中幾乎都會有百里香。而在許多神話中，在烹煮藥草時也常會看到百里香；至於在巫術方面，百里香更是功能強大的必備聖物。
Thyme is a symbol of courage. During medieval times, it was common for fair ladies to embroider sprigs of thyme onto a piece of fabric and then present it as a gift to their “champion” for good luck. Thyme is also a favorite flowering herb of the faeries. If you grow thyme in the garden and care for it well, then the faeries are thought to come and bless the plant. Also, according to flower folklore, if you lay fresh sprigs of thyme across your closed eyelids and eave the herb there for a bit – or if you tuck a sprig in your hair – you will become irresistible. ( these tactics also grant you the power to see the faeries.)
